1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon purple liquid food coloring
4 cups plain popcorn
3 cups Strawberry Frosted Shredded Wheat
2 cups frosted Circus Animal Cookies
2 cups rainbow marshmallows
1 cup roasted salted green peas or pistachios
In a small saucepan, heat the butter, olive oil, and corn syrup over medium heat. When it starts to slightly boil, take off the heat and stir in the food coloring until combined. Place popcorn on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Evenly pour the purple mixture over the top. Using clean hands, toss together lightly, behind careful not to burn your hands. Let sit for about 5 to 10 minutes until dried.
Break the shredded wheat pieces in half into a large bowl. Break up the animal cookies into small pieces and add to the same bowl. Then add the marshmallows, peas or pistachios, and cooled popcorn. Toss together until everything is combined. Pack in snack bags.
